Tiny House Certificate Story on Vermont Public Radio

Today I received three messages within an hour, saying “I heard you on the radio!” So I knew the story about Yestermorrow’s 2025 Tiny House Design-Build Certificate went live today. In case you didn’t happen to be listening, I’m excited to share it with you, too.

Back in February, I Jumped into Tiny House Design Build Certificate 2025 at Yestermorrow Design-Build School, when I joined the students and my co-instructor Jussi Silliman for Week 3 and Week 4 of the program. It was a great experience, working alongside inspired and inspiring students, who are eager to build tiny homes of their own or for others in their communities.

One of the exciting parts of this particular certificate was our class being interviewed by Myla van Lynde, a University of Vermont journalism intern for a collaboration between Vermont Public Radio and the Community News Service. Myla asked great questions and it was fun to visit with her about the specifics of this course as well as the big picture. (I had been interviewed for a Vermont Public story years ago, but was so long ago that I can’t even find it now!)

Shortly after we Wrapped Up Tiny House Design-Build Cert 2025, Myla shared the radio story she’d pulled together from our conversations. She told us she wasn’t sure the story would get picked up by Vermont Public Radio nor when it might air, so we all kept our fingers crossed.

When the story went live today I listened again and I enjoyed hearing what our students and Jussi had to say about the certificate program. Myla did a great job with the story. It’s short and sweet at 4:23, so take a listen. (Click on the link below to go to the page on VPR with photos and the transcript and a button to listen there.) Hope you enjoy it!

Oh, also, if you’re interested in next year’s Tiny House Design-Build Certificate, you can find information about application on the Yestermorrow website. I’m looking forward to teaching it again!
